Free for 14 days. Runs on your machine, not in someone else's cloud. Your data, your model, your hardware — nothing leaves the device. The local AI runtime ships inside the app; on first launch it downloads its model (about 1 GB) once, then works offline. macOS (Apple Silicon and Intel) and Windows 10/11 (64-bit).

or

Windows 10/11 x64 and macOS. The private AI model downloads once on first launch (~1 GB).

macOS

First-launch install

  1. Download VAND, open the DMG, and drag VAND into Applications.
  2. Open VAND from Applications.
  3. If macOS says it can't be opened, go to System Settings, Privacy & Security, and click Open Anyway.
  4. If it still won't open or says it is damaged, open Terminal and run: xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/VAND.app, then open VAND. It opens normally every time after.

On first launch macOS may say it can't verify VAND, because it's unsigned. Click Open Anyway in System Settings, Privacy & Security. If it ever says the app is damaged, run this once in Terminal, then open it — it opens normally every time after:

Windows

First-launch install

  1. Download VAND.
  2. Open the installer.
  3. Click More info.
  4. Click Run anyway.

SmartScreen flags any installer that isn't signed with a paid EV certificate. The More info → Run anyway path is a one-time prompt.

Some newer Windows 11 PCs also run Smart App Control, which is stricter than SmartScreen and can block unsigned apps outright — with no “run anyway”. If VAND won't open at all, that's why. Turning it off is permanent, so we don't suggest it; it's the honest trade-off of shipping VAND unsigned today.

Why the warning

VAND is unsigned today.

Code-signing costs money before it earns trust, so the first sales will fund it. Until then, every installer is published on GitHub with a SHA-256 digest you can verify. Windows may show a one-time SmartScreen prompt; macOS may require approval in Privacy & Security. Your personal data stays on your device either way.
